Acne Laser Treatment
Acne Laser Treatment with Forever Clear BBL™
Forever Clear BroadBand Light (BBL™) therapy is a non-invasive acne treatment developed by Sciton® using BroadBand Light. The laser-based procedure treats the root cause of acne in order to clear breakouts —without the need for medicines or creams. This effective treatment option is typically pain-free and has minimal downtime. Anyone suffering from acne can often obtain significant improvement in their skin when they utilize Forever Clear BBL™ as part of their acne treatment therapy.
What Is Forever Clear BBL™?
BroadBand Light (BBL)™ is the world’s most powerful Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) device on the market. BBL™ enables treatment of multiple skin conditions in the same treatment. The Forever Clear BBL™ procedure utilizes blue, yellow, and infrared light energy to clear acne along with the damage it has caused.
How Does Forever Clear BBL™ Work?
BroadBand Light (BBL™) works by delivering light energy deep into the skin to target the sebaceous glands and remove acne-causing bacteria. The innovative Forever Clear BBL™ treatment is also designed to stimulate your skin cells to regenerate.
What Is The Forever Clear BBL™ Treatment Like?
Since the Forever Clear BBL™ procedure is virtually painless, there is no need for a topical anesthetic. We also using a Cryo skin cooling device to make the treatment very comfortable.
- Step 1: Your skin will first be treated with the blue BBL light, which reaches deep into your pores to eliminate bacteria that causes acne.
- Step 2: A yellow BBL light is then directed at the area to calm inflammation and redness.
- Step 3: Last, your skin will be treated using infrared light in rapid, gentle pulses to initiate the body’s natural healing process.
The entire treatment lasts about 30 to 60 minutes, though this will vary based on the extent of your needs and number of areas being treated.
What Should I Expect After Treatment?
Patients typically require little to no downtime after their Forever Clear BBL™ treatment, and can resume their normal routine after their session. It is normal to develop some redness and inflammation for the first couple days after treatment, but this should quickly fade as your skin continues to heal. Makeup can be applied following treatment if desired.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
Forever Clear BBL™ treatments are safe for most skin colors and can be performed on any area of the body where acne is problem. The most common areas include the face, chest, and back. You should consult with your physician regarding the treatment options that are best for you.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Most patients begin to see improvement to their skin after only one treatment. Skin should look clearer and overall more even. For optimal results, your clinician may recommend you undergo at least six treatments, each performed a week apart. Touch-up treatments are also recommended to maintain your positive results and continue fighting acne-causing bacteria. The number of treatments and rate for undergoing follow-up sessions will vary based on the type and severity of your acne.
What Aftercare Do I Need?
No special skin care regimen is required following treatment. However, you should always protect your skin from direct sun exposure and use an SPF of 30 or above. Your clinician can also recommend an at home skin care regimen if desired.
